Jacques Lacan lived at number 5 rue de Lille, near to where Laura Gonzalez runs her gallery at number 3. A coincidence? Every autumn, as part of Paris Design Week, the decorator presents her new furniture pieces. “I’m in a period of renewal,” says Laura Gonzalez. “My style is evolving, as are my desires, and I’m opening myself up to a multitude of possibilities. A lot of that comes from talking to people close to me, discussing things with my team, and meeting artisans. This collection, Conversations, Réflexions, Divagations, reflects such creative exchange. To bring this to life, I’ve reimagined my gallery as a psychoanalyst’s office — a space conducive to empowering monologues — which extends into a dining room — a place for endless discussions between friends.
